Read below for some exciting news from Cate Luzio, Founder & CEO of Luminary!
United for America, a movement led by Unilever to support cities where vulnerable populations have been hit hardest by the COVID-19 pandemic, is partnering with Luminary to provide women-owned enterprises with the resources they need to adapt their businesses and keep workers employed. We know that women, and particularly women of color, have been disproportionately impacted by this crisis. While more than 60% of women business owners bootstrap their business, they need access to ongoing education, coaching/mentoring, community, networks, guidance and exposure in order to help them rebuild, recover and reimagine their futures.
Through this annual partnership, United for America is awarding 250 annual Luminary fellowships to women-owned businesses in the country’s hardest-hit communities across New York (NY), Houston (TX), Los Angeles (CA), Atlanta (GA), Minneapolis (MN) , Philadelphia (PA), and Fort Wayne (IN). Each fellowship will provide business owners access to Luminary’s thousands of programs and workshops, entrepreneurial resources, and the community needed to revive and grow their businesses. At least 50% of the 250 fellowships will go to women of color owned businesses. In order to learn more and/or apply, please click here.
The application process is now open and will close September 18th, with all Fellowships awarded on September 30th. Each Fellowship will commence on October 1, 2020 through December 31st, 2021.
The United for America Luminary Fellowship Program is investing in women-owned businesses for the long-term, delivering the necessary tools in order to run, maintain, manage and grow their businesses. We’re excited to announce this exciting investment from Unilever and hope that you’ll join us by applying and/or sharing especially if you know other women-owned businesses that need support!
