A Recent PBA Survey Says No!
A recent survey of 2,532 salons, representing 19,392 licensed beauty professionals were asked to participate in a survey to address their safety protocols in place for the over 2 million clients served since reopening.
Strict Cleaning Guidelines Have Increased
Beauty professionals have always maintained cleanliness to prevent the spread of diseases and fungi. Since reopening from the COVID lockdown, professionals and owners surveyed show that they have increased their already strict disinfection process. In addition to more cleaning, barbershop and salon owners have implemented more safety measures such as:
- Requiring that professionals and customers wear masks
- Temperature checks for every person entering the salon or shop
- Staggered scheduling and workspace updated for social distancing
- Modified check-in and payment procedures to lessen contact
With the implementation of these additional measures, and the already strict cleanliness efforts of professionals, this PBA study shows that only 0.07% of customers reported testing positive for COVID within 14 days of visiting a salon.
