About the Host:

Host Katie is passionate about her clients and educating other stylists through her previous positions as a Hotheads Extensions Educator, Hairtalk Extensions Ambassador, and Lead Educator for The Business of Balayage. She is now sharing her knowledge with hairstylists around the country as a Lead Collaborator with the House of Collaboration and Director of Education for Abstrakt Academy. 
Katie followed her passion to become a sought-after stylist by attending the prestigious Aveda Institute in 2003. After moving to Dallas shortly after graduation, Katie has become one of north Texas’ premier stylists, attending and becoming certified in numerous balayage courses where she caught the eye of Amber O'hara, co-founder of The Business of Balayage and founder of House of Collaboration, because of her passion for excellence and her willingness to pay it forward with other stylists. Katie opened her salon, Abstra(kt) Studio, in Frisco, TX in 2016. She hosts classes for her staff and area stylists regularly, and has established Abstra(kt) as the go-to destination in North Dallas for advanced education in the hair industry.
